Classical Ballet (RAD)

Levels are: Pre primary, Primary , Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 5, Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced Foundation, Advanced 1, Advanced 2.
All RAD ballet classes offer world class training not only in the classical ballet technique but also serve as a great technical foundation for any dance style. Suitable for all aspiring dancers who want to excel in dance artistry, technique and body conditioning. Absolutely a must for keen and talented students or anyone wishing to improve their technical dance skills and understanding of the art. Examinations recommended for suitable students.

Older students beginning ballet classes may have to commence at a lower age group to learn the basic principles of ballet.

Stretch and limber A class of utmost importance available to aspiring dancers and those with a keen interest in flexibility and strength training. Improves muscle tone, total body flexibility, total body strength, postural awareness, core stability and range of motion for the legs and torso. Highly recommended for ballet examination students, and other students with an interest in the benefits of this kind of a class. Uses some principles of pilates.

Music and Movement
(3yrs only)A gentle and imaginative introduction to ideas such as general movement, basic music appreciation, mime and following instructions related to dance classes. Introduces 3 year olds to a disciplined environment.

Introduction to Dance (4 yrs only, preschool age)Builds on the same ideas introduced in Music and Movement, with more attention to detail. Enhances total body awareness, self expression through movement, basic dance technique, musicality and mime. Combines Ballet and Jazz for a well rounded introduction.

Sub junior jazz (5, 6 and 7 yrs) A class suited to those just starting out in jazz, or who wish to only attend one class per week, with the emphasis on fun and fitness. Dance to the latest tunes, improve your rhythm and learn some cool steps!

Junior Jazz A (Grades Primary, 1 and 2)Junior jazz is for the experienced young dancer. Offers all aspects of jazz and funk - dance combo's, stretch, jumps, turns, routines, with a stronger emphasis on dance technique than sub-junior level. This class appropriate for ballet students of the relevant age wishing to participate in jazz as well.

Junior Jazz B (8, 9, 10 yrs)A beginner to intermediate level jazz and funk class. This is the perfect class for students only wishing to attend one class a week. More emphasis on fun, fitness and learning some cool moves. Great fun to do with a friend!

Intermediate jazz A (Grades 3, 4 and 5) and Senior Jazz (Grade 6 and above)A high level jazz and funk class only suitable to students with a strong background in jazz and / or ballet. Basic understanding of dance technique is assumed. Fast moves, funky choreography, and intermediate to advanced concepts involved. Suited to the aspiring dancer. Not for beginners.

Intermediate Jazz B (ages 12 and up) A beginner to intermediate level jazz and funk class. This is the perfect class for students only wishing to attend one class a week. More emphasis on fun, fitness and learning some cool moves. Great fun to do with a friend!

Performance

Suitable only for those students undertaking private tuition or studying the RAD ballet syllabus by attending at least 2 ballet classes a week plus a jazz class. This is the class for troupes that will be performing at eisteddfods and local events. Age groups are 12 and under and 14 and under.

Junior Tap

A beginner level tap class suited to the young student or those who are taking tap class for the first time. Lots of fun to be had and noise to be made!

Drama

A class to develop theatrical, expressive and acting skills, gearing students towards successful involvement in both theatre and musical theatre.

Singing

A class for our students’ vocal training – strengthening and developing the voice with a view to perform in musical theatre and song and dance routines.

Private Tuition

One on one half hour sessions allowing students to prepare routines for competition in solo, duo and trio events.
